Wasatch Crest

Last night, I decided it was about time to go on one of my all time favorite rides, the Wasatch Crest. This is a fun trail that starts at the very top of Big Cottonwood Canyon, and rides the ridge between Big Cottonwood and Millcreek Canyons. It is very scenic, and very high, starting at an altitude of 9,000 feet to over 10,000 feet, so it is also much cooler than down in the valley.

Eventually you come across a point near Desolation lake (see previous blog entry) where you can ride back down into Big Cottonwood, or down into Millcreek. I opted for the Millcreek route last night, since this means one can make it a 24 mile ride! Pure Awesomeness!

This is looking over Park City from the Crest trail. That is the top of a ski lift on that hill.

Just one of the many beautiful meadows to ride through on the trail.

And another one.

Can you say "singletrack"?

This is the technical data from the trail. Notice the total descent.

And here we have the Google Earth image.
