Proof of global warming?

Last year, on a Saturday halfway through June, Mike Gasik, his friend Rich and I all went on a bike ride on the Wasatch Crest trail and had a good time. Click here for details: http://a-place-called-vertigo.blogspot.com/2007/06/yet-another-bike-ride.html

Anyway, today, I tried to ride up the Wasatch Crest, starting at Mill D North Fork in Big Cottonwood Canyon. I made it about a mile up, then started coming across snow. Of course the snow gradually got deeper and more abundant the higher I went. When I made it to Desolation Lake, it was still frozen over. The snow was still 3-4 feet on the trail! So, is this proof of global warming? Last year we rode it and there wasn't any snow, and this year, it is impassible.

Enjoy the pictures!

I have been wondering where the snow levels were up there. Thanks for the update. It sure looks amazing... and personally I am LOVING this year. I couldn't ask for more perfect weather : )

All Mike can say is, "That is AMAZING!" A year ago you all were swimming in the lake.

Wow! I love the cooler summer that we have had so far! My lawn is actually green. Although the last week has been warm. Cool pics
